Exclamation How to create a custom dictionary?

is for my language plus terminology from my fiction novel-books and other work.

I am tired to lose the file (that I never find to back-up it because I have NO idea where it is) every time I am forced to re-format my computer.
My words (not covered in the dic) are over 2,000.

    So...
please, any idea in how can I create my own customised dictionary?
and have the ability to backup in a CD, etc

and... is the format .oxt the only format for?

    Help.

    Thank you
