    Visualboyadvance problem on Ubuntu

hey i have a problem on Visual Boy Advance when trying to play roms, this makes them rather unplayable

my computer is an Acer Aspire 7738 and Ubuntu is 12.04 LTS version, Visual boy advance is 1.8.0.
i have tried with other roms and can't find any other Linux supported emulator where i don't need Wine.

Which scaling filter are you using (under Options → Filter)?

Generally, try playing with all the available options under Options → Video and Options → Filter.

    Hope that helps.

i tried every single filter and still nothing, i also tried disabling some layers to see if it were one of the layers that did it, still nothing.
i also tried Mednafen but couldn't get it up and running even though i tried everything
