Hi Forum,
I'm hoping a fellow Ubuntu-user may be able to provide me with some assistance. I installed Ubuntu 13.04 on my Dell Inspiron 15R about 2 and a half hours ago and have not been able to connect to the Internet through WiFi.
I've searched the both Google and the Ubuntu Forums for a possible solution, however none of the procedures I've followed have relieved my stress.
Code:
Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n (rev 1)
I greatly appreciate any help whatsoever.
Regards,
Thomas.
UPDATE:
I was able to get the WiFi working by going to System Settings > Software & Updates > Additional Drivers where there was a proprietary driver installed which wasn't enabled, however one door closes and another door opens; now I am unable to connect to my home WiFi, with the reason being that it's "out of range."
Regards,
Thomas.
UPDATE:
Restarting Ubuntu and my WiFi seemed to have cleared the problem.
Regards,
Thomas.
