This is my first time using Inkscape and I'm recreating an Android Jellybean wallpaper. It looks good except for jagged edges that are actually transparent gaps between the objects. How do I get rid of these?

I love Inkscape and use it a lot. Can you give more detail on what you mean by the transparent gaps? Or an image of it?
