I still miss my slide rule.

I was on the internet before Mosaic was around. Back then everything was telnet & ftp.

One thing I'm 100% certain of is that there was way less crap on the net back in those days compared to today.

I had been using dial-up connections to University computers for a while to share software (the term FOSS hadn't been invented yet), fonts, etc. When I heard about the WWW and accessed it, I thought it was just another bulletin board. I didn't realize it was something new that would grow into what it is today.

I still have my K&E slide rule and the manual. My son played with it for a few days and thought it was fascinating what a few sticks of wood could do.
