Seems stable enough for NASA on a mission critical space station http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/05...an_deployment/
Thanks
I have 6 sessions
Kubuntu (works better than ever)
Cromium Os (works partly, filebrowser is blank white)
Cario Dock Opengl (have to start Compiz and Cairo Dock from Terminal)
Gnome and
Gnome Classic works fine
Unity (dosnt work, black background with mouse cursor )
I can start Unity from Terminal window in Cairo Dock Opengl session.
Here is a Kubuntu update:
From what the article stated, the only reason they switched to Linux was because apparently they weren't smart enough to prevent Windows from getting a virus. As far as Linux being stable, every version of Linux I've ever installed (hundreds) was stable until there were updates. Then it was only a matter of time before it broke. I don't think that makes Linux a bad OS. If you install a stable version of Linux I would just say leave it alone. I would of said hopefully NASA has software engineers to fix whatever may break but since they couldn't keep their Windows laptops from getting a virus the point seems moot.
As far as the most stable of the various forms of Linux out there, I would have to say GNU/Debian/Ubuntu seem the most stable.
