Mouse settings missing after upgrade to Ubuntu 13.04

After upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04, the mouse settings are missing. Strangely, this problem only occurs with wireless mice. I tested this with various mice. When I plug in a wired mouse, the settings are there. With a cordless mouse, the settings are gone, the mouse working though, but I cannot change pointer speed etc. Is this a bug or intended by Canonical?

No, not only on those: I also faced this problem with a wired "Silvercrest" (from Lidl, otherwise quite good) mouse. Weird, anyway.
