    12.10 Server | Machine / Network unreachable

    Hello there,
thanks for reading. Maybe you can help:

All of a sudden, my 12.10 Server is neither reachable from another machine
nor can access local network or the internet.
Machine has a static ip. No DHCP.

Looking up syslog...No suspicious entries found.
But one: cifs vfs unexpected lookup error -112.

ifup says network interface is configured.
It the uptime when machine suddenly becomes unreachable isn't always the same.

Only a restart solves the problem.

    Any ideas?

    Help gladly welcome...

Re: 12.10 Server | Machine / Network unreachable

Does the server show a valid IP address when it goes solo?
A few versions ago, there was a similar thread - dhclient was requesting a new address - even though the machine was supposed to be static IP.

    Hi there,

prompting ifconfig shows a valid ip and also ifup (networkinterface) is ok.
I can also ping internal loop.
