    missing Ubuntu Desktop in panel

when I log in as the default user on mu 12.04 system, the title "Ubuntu Desktop" appears on the left side of the panel at the top of my screen and I can access some special menus there also, but when I log in with my primary account which I have customized in various ways, the left side of the panel just stays empty, so I am just trying to narrow down what configuration settings I may have changed that could be responsible for this differencethanks in advance for any help

What sort of customizations have you made to the other account?

yeah many changes eg to dconf editor schemas, i cld list them 1 by 1 but just hoping to get a ptr to what apps or settings specifically might relate to this "Ubuntu Desktop" title, maybe one ofthe pgms that is supposed to initially be included among those little boxes along left screen margin? thanks for any insights

I would undo your modifications. They appear to be causing your problems.
