Stop what you are doing and shut down. The more you run your drive, the less likely you are to be able to recover your files. Go to a different computer to download and burn a live data recovery CD with TestDisk or Photorec. Use that to recover your files, or what you can, to a different medium.

Best recovery tool I've used: http://foremost.sourceforge.net/ This will resurrect files that were deleted 2 years ago. It's a slow and painful process, and doesn't preserve the filenames, but it's enough to hang you in a court_of_law. Enough said? LoL!
