I am completely new to Ubuntu. I installed 12.04.2 LTS alongside Windows. I connected my wireless adapter (NetGear WNA1000M), Network asks for authentication password. I type in my password, correctly I'm sure, and after trying to connect for about 2~3 minutes, it asks again. The blue light is not blinking as it usually does while I'm running Windows, currently I have my iPad and a very old Dell Dimension 2400. The Dimension doesn't come with a WI-Fi card...

I've lost count the number of times I have recommended devices that work and that users should check carefully before hand.
I realise that you may be new to Linux and you had this device before your move to Ubuntu.
So why not plan to get a new device that works OOTB? They are not expensive.
