No pictures showing

When I open up a thread and there are pictures in a post, they start to load and then they just turn into the little square image icon. I can rt. click the icon and open in a new tab and see them, but why aren't the pictures loading? Is there a setting I need to change or something?

I would start by looking at browser settings - not sure which ones I'm afraid, forum settings are global and I've not seen the same unless I've had ISP issues.
