Those systems look very expensive to me. I could build something much better I reckon.

The low end model is actually cheaper than the cost of the parts.

The other two are more expensive but only by around ~$200, which is not bad considering the value of warranty, service, assembly, etc.

This is indeed good news. The one manufacturer who's name is synonymous with PC gaming is now pushing Ubuntu. I guess Steam's push for Linux has made it's way to hardware. Now let's see if the likes of nVIDIA take note....

Nvidia has always provided pretty decent Linux drivers and they've gotten better as of late with the partnership between Valve and Canonical.

AMD is the one you have to push for.

I will admit that I prefer using nVIDIA over AMD, but since I'm running the famed Optimus tech it still seems like nVIDA is slacking off. Thank goodness for the bumblebee project.
I'm not sure why I've almost instictively dismissed AMD, but it would be nice if they would step it up.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, isn't Alienware a division of Dell? Like Dewalt is a division of Black&Decker...

The price is good and I'm excited. With steam and now Alienware providing this type of system, very good news.
