Home server, two hard drives. LVM?

Hello, Ubuntu forums! Well as you can tell from my title, I am a new user to Ubuntu. I'm about to set up my first home server using Ubuntu. I think I have a good basic understanding for what I would like to do, except for one item. I will be using 2 hard drives to start on this machine. I was thinking of using the guided options to create a lvm. But since I haven't really had problems in the past with partitioning, I didn't worry about it. Now that I would like to use both of these drives for this server. How would I add the second HD after partitioning the first drive as the swap, boot drive during the installation process. Or would it be better to do this operation a different way?

Thank you for any help from the community!

    Re: A total newb again

I should say that I am using the 10.04 LTS for this machine.
