Upgrade old laptop: What card for wireless compatability?

I have an old Toshiba Satelitte A300. Wireless card uses chipset 4965 AG and I cannnot ever get it to work. Tired of trying.

What card should I replace it with? Are the chipsets listed at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...CardsSupported :

    Ralink 2500/RT2400 (802.11G),
    Realtek RTL8180 (802.11G),
    Atheros AR9170 chipset (802.11N).

the best ones to look for?

I have another laptop with AR928 chipset that connects fine. Would any recent Antheros chipset do?

I plan to find a used card for a few bucks. Sometimes it is hard to find out what chipset they use though. Any recommendations for specific cards?

    Thanks.
