Hi all,
Someone is proposing to build a wind farm near my house.
The three turbines would be in a straight line with my home the nearest being about 500mtr away.
I'm not against wind turbines but we already have a 1MW community turbine nearby and there is not enough capacity on the grid for an extra three.
There is more to it than this but I won't go into all the details.
Anyway, their expert says that there is no chance of flicker induced epilepsy etc.
Because with a maximum rotation of 34rpm and three blades the fastest flicker rate would be 1.5Hz.
So my question is this:
When looking through the blades, slightly off the axis of their alignment, it is possible to see the Sun through the up going blades of one turbine and the down going blades of another.
Also, all three turbines might going at slightly different speeds. For example 34, 33 and 32rpm.
Could this cause flicker at rates higher than the 1.5Hz which they predict?
TIA for any insight into this problem.
