Help with installing antivirus software

Can someone give instructions on how I remove Avg 2013 from the current version of ubuntu. Also can someone recommend and give instructions on how to install a gui based antivirus please.

That link may be a little old, but this is from 2012. Also, I use clam antivirus with ClamTk gui.

can someone tell me how to now remove comodo. It don't appear in the package manager. I managed to get rid of avg thanks. My system monitor not long after installing comodo told me both of my processors where using 100% of there power. It took me 10 mins to disable the comodo as pc was running slow. Pc is now usable but cant see how to get rid of it. I worry about the longterm effects on the computer.

open software center and search comodo, highlight it then click remove

no not really, i think it just deals with ms.windows viruses/malware. it might be preferred to deal with usb drives or email attachments, but personally i see that as up to the other person to deal with, it is their system your would be protecting, therefore none of your business.

you should switch the firewall on though, and if you have time/patience, determine which ports you need, then block all incoming and outgoing, just allowing what you need.
