    Script/Software to control battery

    Hi guys,

I'd like to have a program (or a script to run in the terminal) to control my laptop battery.. before installing ubuntu 18.04 I had windows 10 and among its settings there was a feature to "keep the battery charge to around 75%" (to extend its life).. that was very useful and when I needed the battery to be 100% full, I simply toggled the feature off..
I was wondering if there was any program like that for ubuntu too??

    Thank you!!
    Olly

OK, I found TLPUI, nice and fairly easy to use.. but it doesn't seem to be working.. I set it to start charging at 70% and stop at 80%, but my battery always stays fully charged on AC
    Anyone willing to help, please??..
    Thank you!!

If you install Synaptic Package Manager and search "battery" there are some options I see (i don't have batteries).
I would guess that some cron job linked to such a tool might fit the bill - i.e. check battery status every n hours.
