    Re: 10.04 no wired/wireless connection

It's probably easy to fix, but before doing so I recommend that you do a fresh install of 12.04.2 or 12.10, as 10.04 has only one month of support left.

    Re: 10.04 no wired/wireless connection

I have cd with Xubuntu 12.04/10 and there's same problem.
I'll install 12.04 version 'cause it's "stable" and post results here.

Yes, you need to install drivers for this card regardless of version.

There are plenty of threads, for example

    Re: 10.04 no wired/wireless connection

But how can i install them without internet connection on xubuntu?

    EVERYONE say to type this

    sudo apt-get remove --purge bcmwl-kernel-source
    sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
    But it's impossible for me.

Oh, sorry. I didn't notice that the wired connection didn't work either.

I have never seen that. Leaving the thread for a more experienced one to answer.

    Hi,
Download the b43 zip file to a flash drive then drag and drop the file to your ubuntu desktop. Right-click it and select Extract Here. Open a terminal and do:
    Code:
    sudo mkdir /lib/firmware/b43
    sudo cp Desktop/b43/* /lib/firmware/b43
    sudo rmmod -f b43
    sudo rmmod -f ssb
    sudo modprobe b43
    Thanks

Re: 10.04 no wired/wireless connection, Dell Inspiron 1520

    after typing
    "sudo rmmod -f ssb"
    i got
ERROR: Removing 'ssb' : Resource temporarily unavailable

but i skip it, and did what you say and it worked.
    Thanks mate!

    Solved.
