Whatever happened to Ubuntu for TV's

I remember hearing about Ubuntu for TV's quite some time ago. Whatever happened with that?

That won't come out till sometime in 2014. When Unity will be complete across all platforms.

Did they ever get any hardware vendors on board?

They would be unlikely to announce that until they were actually ready to launch a product.

Remember that Ubuntu TV was based on Unity-2D which was suddenly cancelled by Canonical at 12.10 (in lieu of using LLVMpipe rendering of Unity-3D). I guess that leaves Ubuntu TV in a dilemma and requiring significant rework.

Ubuntu TV seems to be the latest Duke Nukem Forever. I wouldn't count on any products being released.
