Why do you have to post about LibreOffice with each minor release? Like this here:

I don't mind it so much (though it's not for me to decide). I wouldbe helpful, though, if he could also mention some of the bug fixes or improvements in the update. That, at least, would be a little more informative.

if we loaded a 4.0.x are we not interested in 4.1 next ?

the issue that we are most interested in is are .docx and .xlsx files accepted by the Thrower of Chairs? He agreed to the ISO standard, indeed he got his ooxml adopted as the ISO standard so it seems to me he really should get his chair fixed, buy a tie, and do business properly .

Sorry, I wasn't aware that posting info that a new Update for LibreOffice was unwelcome.

Many people are experiencing issues with LibreOffice 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 (Myself Included) and I thought they might like to know that a new update is available that might fix there problems.

I was just trying to help the Community by passing on the info.

I have updated my first post with a link to the Releases Notes.

    Unfortunately they are only for
    4.0.2 RC1.

    Re: LibreOffice 4.0.2 Final

ok 4.0.2 rc2 is available now for download. however a couple of caveats:

if you need to produce reports from a database using base you will find most of your legacy reports will not run. certainly any generated using 3.6.5 will not run. you also cannot generate new reports with the wizard without using the still rather unusable report builder extension.

for serious work we are using 3.6.5 here which is fine in all the above respects, better yet it generates report definitions which run ok under openoffice 3.3 without modification. this version (3.6.5) is available from the libreoffice 3.6.x ppa and plays happily with the unity global menu.
