Realtime (lowlatency) kernel and SSD disk.

Hello everyone! I using the lowlatency kernel which is very good for some music production on my laptop. I wonder if I am on the a lowlatency kernel (on ubuntu) SSD disk will work on good optimization like it should. And if new update (new lowlatency kernel) will out, should I change any settings or everything will be done automatically? Actuall lowlatency kernel version is 3.5.0.25.24. Also I heard about TRIM enabling for not slowing down SSD, I made it with the cron technique that I found somewhere, but my question is, will the TRIM work everytime when I change the kernels etc.? Thank you.
