    Battery icon missing from panel?

Hey guys, to start I have got to say this community is amazing!! Every question I ask gets answered almost immediatly!! you guys rock!
    now for my next question
After I am done charging my laptop when I unplug it from the wall
I sometimes have to deal with a missing battery icon for quite some time, leaving me unsure how fast my laptop is discharging.
It seems to reappear randomly after a while..Im wondering if this is a bug perhaps?
Is there anyway to fix this? Or restart a process perhaps?
Maybe I can set a setting to just always keep it up there, regardless of what is going on with my battery, charging or not?
    Thanks alot in advance!

I use battery monitor as a separate plugin in my panel, with below that a separate home-made script that shows the remaining energy and current power (when non-zero) in SI units. It's the orange bar with the AC below in the middle of the screenshot.

Thank you so much but is there no way to get the default battery icon in the top panel to show? If not ill definately try it out as an alternative. How would I get the plugin?

Re: Battery icon missing from panel?

The easy way to get the battery monitor plugin: Go to applications>settings>settings manager, click task bar (or something like it, I'm using dutch), select elements, add a new element and choose the battery monitor. I think it's included in the xfce4-goodies package.

About the default monitor: I don't know why is disappears for a while on your laptop. I see it sometimes disappear, but it comes back within a minute or so, which is too short for a reliable estimate of the power anyway (it's shorter than an on/off cycle of the fan on my laptop).
