"a" replaced with "c" in Google Chrome tabs

I'm having a weird issue in Google Chrome on 64bit Ubuntu; "a" is replaced with "c" in the tabs.
I didn't notice it until tonight, but I don't really know how long this could have been going on.

Can you go into "Settings" and create a new user account and see with that? It would an easy way to know if there's something wrong with your default profile that's causing the problem.
Shortened urls: See point #11 here. And clicking on them could be risky.

I thought I tried this already... but signing out and signing back in fixed the issue. For what it's worth, there also wasn't an issue in the other account I tried.
