Re: How do i foward ports in linux???

By default, Ubuntu will not block any ports. If you've got a program listening for an incoming connection, it will receive any incoming connection and be able to respond unhindered. No "port forwarding" required.

If you've installed gUFW or some other kind of firewall configuration utility, and you've got it set to block all ports, then just add a new rule to allow ports 2011 and 2012 TCP.

The other thing that might be stopping your connection, if you're attempting to connect to the Ubuntu machine from somewhere outside your network, is your modem/router. Most broadband modems (excluding "dongles") contain some sort of firewall already. You'll need to log into the modem's web-based configuration utility and forward the ports to your Ubuntu machine. The procedure is different for every modem; check your modem's manual.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
