Rhythmbox year unknown for all music

I just installed Xubuntu 13 and decided to try out Rhythmbox. Rhythmbox displays 'Unknown' for the year of all my music, though other tools do say it is set.

Is this bug new in Ubuntu 13? And is there a known workaround?

Rb will not display/find any year info, same can be said for nautilus (what's the connection between the 2 don't know
Pretty much all other players inc. banshee are fine in this regard.

This is definitely a new bug, I have my conky set up to display track info using the rhythmbox-client command and it's recently stopped displaying the year.
