How to... turn ubuntu into backtrack?

    Hello guys.

I am starting to get bored with the stock ubuntu 12.10 operating system. And was wondering if there is a ppa I can add to Ubuntu so I can group install all of the Backtrack 5 applications? Or if I can edit the software sources so I can upgrade Ubuntu 12.10 to Backtrack 5 somehow?

This might be a weird question I know, but it would be cool if I could do so. If not I'll just have to dl it. ^.^

It would be easier to just use BackTrack.

Last I checked, running backtrack applications on Ubuntu was unsupported by them.

I'm not sure how much longer BackTrack will be in use, as it's based on Ubuntu 10.04 which reaches end-of-life next month.

Also it's replacement, Kali Linux has just been released.

Thanks for the info. Awesome name for a Distro imo.

Kali linux looks pretty good. I also found another alternative called Matriux. I will try both of them and post a review at a later date.
