Re: Help! Internet issues when trying to install Ubuntu or Mint on windows 8 laptop
[QUOTE=Impavidus;12562059]I understand you can run a live session (booting from the live dvd/usb)? You say you can't use wifi or wireless. Can you use a wired internet connection? You may need additional drivers to get the wireless working. Set up a wired connection and install the recommended driver. Search the dash for "additional drivers" or "additional hardware". I'm not sure, I don't use Unity myself. This way you can test your wifi. It's not persistent, but you'll know how to install the drivers later when you've installed ubuntu.
I have a Toshiba Satellite and had to install with a wired connection. After the install was complete I went to additional drivers and the wireless driver was downloaded.
Multi-boot: Arch linux, Ubuntu 12.04, Windows 7 & Windows 8
