Hi,

Is this the GOTY edition or...? Because the GOTY edition tends to have problems according to the database. Did you install anything outside of the Oblivion installer like Microsoft Net or anything? What does your libraries tab look like inside winecfg? I also found some links you might find useful.

had a similar thing happen, where the app database and everything said a game should work but it just kept crashing during the installer.

I installed playonlinux, it downloads secondary (older) versions of wine where the program was known to work, not ideal but it works
