Mouse not working very well

Hi. I am new to Ubuntu!

It is great transition. After being on Apple for almost 20 years, I decided to switch to Ubuntu.

However, I have a couple of problems.

My mouse doesn't seem to work very well. It always dissapears and goes to a different part of the screen. This seems to be a common problem, yet all of the solutions I found did not work at all. Also, when I open my computer after it being asleep, the mouse icon freezes altogether.


Can anyone direct me to an appropriate forum or suggest any solutions?

What computer model are you running Ubuntu on?

Just the track pad on my system76 GalagaUltrapro ubuntu 13.10

Might be hardware. After all system76 sells these products with Ubuntu, so it seems strange that it would be software related.
