    Libre Office misbehaves

When I'm typing in Libre Office, when I'm typing in the middle of already existing text, then the typing replaces and erases the already written text.

I want the typing to push the old text forward, and not erase it. Where do I change that?

Hi, At the bottom of the page, just to the right of the language preference click until it saays 'insert'. Good luck.

I'm having the same problem now, only now at the bottom of the page, I don't see a language preference anymore.

How do I get new text to be inserted instead of replacing?

Found the answer on this page: https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Replace

However, it turns out that answer doesn't work.

    I'm open to suggestions.
