    10.04 WEP Wireless security

Hi, can anyone help i'm trying to set up the wireless networking on my computer.
I am using Ubuntu version 10.04 and am using a wireless N adapter which is connected.
I can only see WEP security when I try to set up the network does this version not support WPA2?

Thanks in advance for your help

Ubuntu 10.04 supports WPA2 very well. However, many older wireless cards do not. You can check with this command from the terminal:
    Code:
    sudo iwlist wlan0 auth
This assumes your wireless interface is wlan0:
    Code:
    iwconfig
As well, if you are trying to associate with a wireless access point that is encrypted with WEP, Network Manager will pop up an authorization box with only the method the access point uses; i.e. WEP. Please see attached.

    Re: 10.04 WEP Wireless security

Thanks for getting back to me,
I think the problem is that the adapter is not actually working so I am not picking up any signal.
Its that or the driver has not installed properly.

Thanks again will post back if I cant sort it
