I currently have a Linux PC in my basement computer room that accesses the internet through a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router. My main television is upstairs about 40 feet away. I would link to funnel data streaming (Pandora/Netflix) in from the web to the upstairs TV. Cabling is possible but would be a PITA to install, hence my desire to go wireless. Is there a clean inexpensive solution to this scenario? What software would be needed on the Linux PC and/or is there a comm device that could be placed at the TV to receive the internet data directly or through the basement PC? My LCD TV (2009 vintage) is not one of the newer 'data streaming' friendly models but it does have available HDMI ports. I don't have video game units or Blue-ray. Any suggestions are appreciated.
