    Hi !

I'm find deb package for this version and not have dependecies for install. I'm triing to install from ppa, and not work.
I'm triing to compile from tar.gz archieve, and not install again.

Only the last version is possible to install v.1.2.2

This version not have posibility to using external plugins, only the 0.8.8 version.

I'm not have possibility to install kaffeine 0.8.8 in xubuntu 12.10 ???

Thank in advance for all response !

This could get a bit tricky but you should be able to do it by installing kdelibs-bin, then unpacking and compiling the source code contained in the 0.8.8 tarball.

Re: xUbuntu 12.10 and kaffeine 0.8.8 ??? Mission impossible ?

I would say a Linux newbie should probably use Audacious or some other gtk media player with his Xubuntu, rather than mess with installing a ton of unnecessary QT stuff.
Without actually doing it myself (don't want to mess up my good Vbox!) you should install kdelibs-bin-

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install kdelibs-bin
then unpack the kaffeine 0.8.8 tarball. Navigate to the directory of the unpacked files in the terminal, and run

    Code:
    ./configure
If you get an error here, run

    Code:
    sudo apt-get build-dep kaffeine
    Then run

    Code:
    make install clean
Can't guarantee this will work but you can try it.

OK, honestly I'm not comfortable going much further with this- my compiling skills are pretty low and I really don't like the way the scheme looks anyway. You may want to try getting help in the Kubuntu forums, or wait here till someone more knowledgeable than me comes along.
