Some of those tax software web sites do not run on linux, such as turbo tax. Check yours out to see if the web based software will run on linux. If not you want to shrink a linux partition to create enough room for windows. Install windows. It is not such a hassle to reset the MBR to GRUB. You have boot-repair or can issue two commands from terminal in a Live CD/USB session to reset MBR to GRUB. Either way takes less than a minute...not a hassle in my book.
