Sounds like the printer drive is messed up. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer?
You could also try booting from a livecd and trying to print to see if the problem persists.

If so, I'd say it's a driver issue.
Is there any way you could post an image for us? Say, take a picture with your cell phone.
