Question Risks associated with removing Unity...

Hi all, at the risk of repeating a thread because I'm currently unable to access the search feature...

I'm testing 13.04 on a 16gb USB stick, partitioned two ways, system & home. As I'm more interested in following Gnome 3.6 than Unity's progress and in the interests of saving valuable disk space, is it safe to remove Unity altogether? Would removing 'ubuntu-desktop' pose any issues related to Gnome ? Could I remove/purge all Unity packages and then (if needed) re-install 'ubuntu-desktop') via synaptic?

    Any help much appreciated!

There isn't any need to go to all that trouble, either use the Gnome Remix iso from here, and update it to Raring of use the build script mentioned in sgage's post here to build a Raring iso.

lol, I discovered I'd reclaim a huge 12Mb of disk space by removing Unity. 12Mb - hardly worth the effort!

    Cheers.
