Pangolin not asking for password after resume or hibernate

    Hi, all,
I'm sure this is a simple issue but I haven't been able to google up the answer, and forum searching here has not enlightened me, either.

The recently installed Pricise Pangolin (12.04) distro on my laptop suspends and hibernates fine, but after resuming from either one does not ask for a password. Previous distro's always asked for a password after waking up from suspend or hibernation.

I need my password-on-resume back. How do I do this?

    Tnx!!

Under System Settings -> Brightness and Lock, I have a check box next to "Require my password when waking from suspend"

That seems to do the trick.

Nope. It doesn't. So now the question is why. The syslog doesn't offer any enlightenment. Any suggestion on how to proceed would be appreciated!
