    Wireless problem after 12.04 upgrade (Intel Centrino N100)

    Hi,

    I have an Acer Aspire One Happy Netbook with an Intel Centrino N100 wireless card, and I upgraded my Ubuntu from 11.04 to 12.04 yesterday and I have been having problems with my wifi ever since (I believe when I first installed 11.04 on my netbook I had similar problems, but I can't remember how I fixed it then). I can access the internet via the ethernet cable. I believe I have the correct firmware for my device.

    I have looked around on quite a few forums and followed the instructions from the following but it did not work:

    I also tried this, but without updating the firmware

    Any help would be most appreciated. Here are some outputs from some commands which might be useful.

    Indeed. Google suggests this was a bug that has been resolved by later kernel versions. Before we proceed further, please hook up the ethernet temporarily and do:

    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade
    One of the upgrades should be the latest available kernel for 12.04, also known as linux-image. Reboot and let us see again:

    We might also check the integrity of your firmware files:

    As far as I'm aware the switch is on. I did the following with the ethernet unplugged.

    I'm running low on things to fix! Everything looks just fine but why won't it start and run like a John Force dragster? Please reboot so we have a clean slate and do:
