Oh dear, what have I done? apt-get update/clean not working.

I'm very new to ubuntu and I'm trying to update the packages but every time I run apt-get update I get this

    W: Duplicate sources.list entry cdrom://Ubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_ - Release i386 (20051012)/ breezy/main i386 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/Ubuntu%205.10%20%5fBreezy%20Badger%5f%20-%20Release%20i386%20(20051012)_dists_breezy_main_b inary-i386_Packages)
    W: Duplicate sources.list entry cdrom://Ubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_ - Release i386 (20051012)/ breezy/restricted i386 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/Ubuntu%205.10%20%5fBreezy%20Badger%5f%20-%20Release%20i386%20(20051012)_dists_breezy_restri cted_binary-i386_Packages)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
If I run apt-get clean absolutely nothing happens.

    What have I done?

I very rarely post on forums with my issues and work out the solution from other people's queries but this one I really can't solve.

    What version are you running?
    I don't think you'd be running breezy.

Anyway, you'll need to open up the software sources and uncheck the cd-rom mark in other software.

However, being that it would be hard to fathom your current system is what the error says, getting to the software sources can differ from release to release.

Also, if you will post the output from:
    Code:
    cat /etc/apt/sources.list
    Splat Double Splat Triple Splat

Don't mind me, I'm only passing through.

I'm running version version 12.04 LTS

This is what the output said

Sorry, I'm a real dunce. Just switched to Linux from Windows.

Ok somehow, for whatever reason, you have the cdrom option available for breezy badger.

    Code:
    deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_ - Release i386 (20051012)]/ breezy main restricted
    deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_ - Release i386 (20051012)]/ breezy main restricted
If in the sources.list you posted you see how some entries have a # symbol next to them. This symbol is the comment symbol and means the entry on said line will be ignored when read.
So simple enough, open a text editor with sudo(root):
    Code:
    gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
And add a # to both breezy badger cdrom lines. Then save the file.
Then close and run update again, see if that helps.
And if more errors come, post them.
