    Unhappy Ubuntu 12.04 Server Package Error

    hi,

    i have get a ubuntu server from a hoster without any configuration.. so i will use it for a web-tool.. i have installed the general things like php or apache and so on.. but i cant install any package still now.. got always the same error

    Processing was halted because there were too many errors.
    E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

    i try any kind of update upgrade etc. etc.

    there will be broken packages maybe? but i have no desktop enviroment.. i have just connection to the terminal and the paths..

    is there any way to reinstall ubuntu from the terminal?

    please help me iam gonna crazy

    Have you spoken to the Provider?
    Windows assumes the user is an idiot.
    Linux demands proof.

    Do you really need Ubuntu Server? Ubuntu Desktop is a lot easier to use, it's just a wee bit slower and needs more RAM.
