    aptdaemon error

When I attempt to install any software in 11.10, I get an unhandleable error message telling me that there's a programming error in aptdaemon. Installation worked initially, but that changed after it hung up on a Eula, which prevented an installation. Is a re-install required, and will it help? I'm brand new to Linux, so probably can't handle anything too terminal-intensive. Thanks.

    Re: aptdaemon error

Ubuntu version 11.10 will expire in April, so picking a different starting point is a good idea. If you're using a netbook, you might want to pick Xubuntu 12.04, which will be supported until 2017, and is lightweight. Another option is Lubuntu 12.04.

Since there are several ways to install software, it might be useful to say which method you are trying to use. Software Centre?

Thank you. I guess my question doesn't matter, since I'll re-install using one of your suggestions.
