earphone jack, no signal

There's no signals going to the earphone jack (Ubuntu 12.10) but works in Windows.

yet, laptop's built-in speakers works.

Not sure what happened. I was installing and uninstalling media apps then headphone stop working, Movie Player, Rhythm box etc ...

Did I remove a plug-in patch that send signals to the headphone jack?

I ran this script as suggested in another post:
