Graphic Card okay but system is down
Hi, I had graphic card problems. So I followed this link tutorial on correct graphic card installation. I am now able to perfectly use switchable graphics. But as side effects, My system shows the following signs after doing the tweek mentioned in that link :
1. System is shutdown takes 5 min or sometimes never.
2. Log out takes 2 min. Login takes no time at all
3. Sleep makes the system puts the system to black screen, then messages like run level 1 and run level 3 [ok] .. [ok] ... [ok] and so on. But it gets stuck at turning virtualisation off [ok] and then nothing happens. It never sleeps
So from morning I tried sudo shutdown -h 0
This command shuts down the system in seconds like it should.
General system information :
Dell inspiron 15 se 7520
running proprietary ati graphics latest catalyst 13 v. It works fine. both in integrated ad discreet mode.
I didn't know where to post this problem as this could be hardware or software problem. If it helps windows works fine on my system. Ubuntu 12.04.1 is a fresh installation.
