ASRock E350M1 Mini-ITX Dual Core Motherboard With Antec ISK-100 Micro-ATX Case

ASRock E350M1 Mini-ITX Dual Core Motherboard With Antec ISK-100 Micro-ATX Case for sale.

    At a glance:

    Linux Kubuntu

1.6GHZ dual core E-350 processor with integrate graphics

Antec ISK-100 micro atx case with 90 watt power supply.

    2GB DDR3 1333 RAM (board supports 1066, but 1333 is what I had lying around & 4GB works better)

160GB Hard Drive that could cheaply be swapped for a 1TB offering if converting the machine for home theatre or home server use.

This item is listed on ebay and is only delivered within the UK. Current bid stands at £21 with £10.30 for 1st class delivery.

why would it have a 90 watt ps? my new home build is going to have a 500 watt ps.

At most the build uses 30 - 40 watts running on full load so that's less than the average light bulb even if you plug in two 1TB hard drives.

    Consider this:

A phenom 2x4 965BE eats 100watts holding the OS up (an expensive light bulb)

Start rendering video and we're chewing nearer 200watts @ 3.4GHZ

Overclock it to 3.8 and you can add at least 50watts to that.

Downclock it to 2.6 and you'll use a little less, but it's still a 90watt TDP and lets face it it's slower and cheaper than an I7

Energy bills are important when you have to pay them.

The consensus is that it's cheaper for a phenom 2 chewing 200 watts for a 5 minute render than a E-350 to do the same task over 25 minutes.

An E-350 build will never get close to even 100watts so you estimate the maximum possible power usage of the potential build on full load and then add a bit for future upgrades so that's how I arrived at finding a 90watt ps for the E-350 build.
