    Smile Linux on Apad

hi i have one of these apad epad tablet and i've seen stories on the internet of people putting linux on a cheap tablet from china but i cant find any guides so i was wondering if anyone knows how to do it i would like lubuntu on it but i have seen somewhere that that isnt possible but im not too bothered about the distro as long as i get linux on it but it would probibly have to be a lightweight distro as my tablet isn't very powerful

these are the specs i could find for it
    Android 2.2
aPad ePad iPed Table PC 7" WIFI 4GB 256MB

if you need anymore info i can look at the tablet to get it

If it's currently running android, that means that it has an ARM processor in it. Ubuntu isn't compiled to run on ARM, only x86. You would have to get the source and re-compile for ARM, which probably wouldn't work. Lets say we scrap the ubuntu idea. You would need to get access to the bootloader, and put in an os such as raspbian. raspbian isn't really oriented for a touch environment, however, so i dont think that it would work very well. Android is (somewhat) of a linux distro by the way.
