I tried to start my nvidia driver using nvidia-xconfig and now my screen resolution is stuck to 640x480. That is the only option displayed in System Settings -> Display. My default resolution was 1366x768.
I have ubuntu 12.04.
My xorg.conf file is:

# nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig: version 304.48 (buildmeister@swio-display-x86-rhel47-05.nvidia.com) Sun Sep 9 21:29:02 PDT 2012

Also, since I tried the same command several times, my xorg.conf.backup file is also the same as xorg.conf
I am fairly new to linux. Please help.
