I cant get a desktop icon for blender 2.62 to work

Does anyone have time to explain what's happening here? I am using blender 2.62 in maveric, I have recently been trying to make a desktop launcher, unsuccessfully

The quote below is what I get when I try to open my blender.desktop file

"The application launcher "blender.desktop" has not been marked as trusted. If you do not know the source of this file, launching it may be unsafe."

I cant even open it in text editor any more

In order to open it in a text editor, just drug and drop it inside it (it works with gedit, at least)

But this isn't the case here, you have to right click on the launcher, go to the 'Permissions' tab and click on 'Allow executing file as program'
