Windows assumes the user is an idiot.
    Linux demands proof.

"Distro" is short for "to distribute to others." So I'd say the first step is to build a community of like-minded users who are interested in using your software. Who is your target audience? Have you built a forum/IRC/mailing list to discuss with these people what software they need, and why current distros are not meeting their needs?

I agree through, another Ubuntu based distro is just boring, unless you have a specific purpose. You can pretty much find what you need already though, as there are already hundreds of Ubuntu based distros.

Yes, and yes. What niche are you trying to fill with yet-another-ubuntu-respin that hasn't been filled yet?
    Mac OS X 10.6.8
    Debian Sid - Openbox
    Ubuntu 12.04
    Slackware 14 - Openbox

really though, it's just going to start as a spinoff of Ubuntu, but I hope to make it an easier transition from Windows machines to linux. it's so that people like me(people who want to kick Bill Gates where it hurts repeatedly) can finally find peace in an OS, and be able to still run software that they've been running since they had their computers. in other words, it'll have things like WINE pre-installed, among other stuff.

also, @iamkuriouspurpleoranj: I laughed myself out of my chair onto the floor with that one.

wine isn't a fix all and when it works it works well but in other cases it fails miserably. And besides wine mint does everything you area describing
Whoever came up with the phrase "There is no such thing as a stupid question" obviously never had the internet.
