A lot of people like Unity and the way it looks. If you don't like Unity, use something else.

That's the new nautilus. If you can bear the appearance, bear it (personally, I almost never use the things). Otherwise install a different file manager.

Can you be a little clearer about exactly what it is you don't like? Is it the list view? Mine defaults to icon view so that's really the only thing that's sticking out to me....

Folder view within your File Manager can only be represented so many ways, of course its going to look similar to File Managers on other OS'.

This complaint to me all seems very silly. There are plenty of other themes, DE, window managers, and programs you could try.
